Junior Secondary and Malanda State High School is a very valued and essential phase in a student’s education. The three years’ work completed in year 7, 8 and 9 sets the foundations for the success of the students in the senior phase. Our school has a specifically designed structure which allows the young students to develop emotionally as well as academically. The curriculum is designed to allow students to explore new areas whilst enjoying their favourite subjects.
Our school success is based on our two major systems in the school. The junior teachers work within a very explicit teaching system which focusses on engagement and fun for students whilst continually checking for understanding. Our aim is to leave no students’ progress to chance and our student support system engages with every student and parent individually. Our partnerships with parents are critical to ensure we are meeting the individual needs of each student.
Our school results are some of the best in the state and will continue to be so whilst our Junior Secondary focus is on well supported individuals and quality teaching.
