About the Expo
The Malanda SHS Careers Expo brings together employers, training organisations, universities, industry groups and community organisations to showcase career opportunities available to young people across Far North Queensland.
Students will have the opportunity to:
- Explore career pathways
- Learn about apprenticeships and traineeships
- Discover university and TAFE options
- Meet local employers
- Participate in hands-on activities
- Gain inspiration for their future
Session Times
9:00am – 11:30am
Open to visiting secondary schools.
Malanda SHS Student Session
11:00am – 3:00pm
Students will rotate through exhibitor displays and activities.
Open to the Community
3:00pm – 5:00pm
Parents, job seekers and community members are welcome to attend.

We would be delighted to have you involved as a stallholder!
The Careers Expo will run from 9:00am to 5:00pm and will provide an opportunity for students from Malanda SHS and surrounding schools, as well as community members, to explore a wide range of career pathways, industries and training opportunities.
Stallholders are provided with a space (a table space or 3x3 space) to showcase their organisation, industry and career opportunities. We encourage exhibitors to include interactive displays, demonstrations, equipment, promotional materials or hands-on activities where possible, as these are always highly engaging for students.
To secure a stall, we simply ask that you complete our Stallholder Registration Form, which will assist us with planning, site allocation, equipment requirements and event logistics. Once received, we will confirm your participation and provide further event information closer to the date.
We would love for your team to provide students with an understanding of the diverse career opportunities available within FNQ and abroad! It would be great to share information about the qualifications, skills and pathways required to enter the industry you are working in, while also inspiring students to consider it as a rewarding and meaningful career choice. Hearing firsthand experiences from industry professionals can have a significant impact on helping students explore future possibilities and make informed decisions about their career pathways.
