The Young Diplomats Program is an international diplomacy competition which provides students with an opportunity to participate in a simulated United Nations conference. This year the topic was Global Food Security and Malanda High provided a delegation from Russia. The students conducted extensive research on Russian geography, economic and foreign policy in order to be able to represent this nation’s perspective of ensuring that all people have access to adequate food supplies.
Our team consisted of 4 dedicated students who travelled to James Cook University Townsville to compete on Friday, 22nd August. They were supported by Modern History teacher, Jodi Stremouchiw and Teacher-Librarian, Lyndell. Congratulations to Grace Arnold-Nott, Lloyd Francis, Talia-Joy Peachey and Natalie Tirrell for representing our school so capably.
